About Ross
I remember the moment I knew, sitting behind a drafting table in Architecture 301 working on the exterior of a small house print. Small town Colorado same as any other day, it hit me, I loved design. I had already spent years going down this path now I finally knew what I wanted to do with my future.
Man life changes. It loves to throw you a fair share of curveballs too. I never went into Architecture, or design and management, or anything else I went to school for. I dove into construction with my father. Just doing anything to pay the bills and afford my best life on the beaches of Maui. There’s not a lot to complain about in Hawaii. I spent my time working on the beach, and playing in the ocean. There came a day when I knew I needed to set my goals a little higher if I wanted to give myself a lucrative life.
So, I left my life in Hawaii behind for a more profitable future, and a pair of hazel eyes. In the pacific northwest, my attention to detail led me to become a pretty skilled contractor. After learning I was becoming a father, I knew I needed to think bigger. So I built a business. Though it did well, it never had my heart. The more you work in a profession you don’t enjoy, the harder it becomes. And I missed the beach…
The coast of Texas called our names. We found a great town outside of Houston. Great for business and close enough to the beach to make my heart happy. After my best friend moved into cyber security, we started talking about what changes I could be making. I instantly knew I had rekindled my passion, in the form of user experience design. Similar challenges with a different end product.
In our down time, our family still finds the beach as often as possible. Just sitting, letting the dogs run free or out on the water, we can’t get enough of our happy place.
